S’mores Frappuccino Granita
This s’mores frappuccino granita couldn’t be easier to make or more refreshing! Â There’s no need to scrape, and you can make the coffee ice just as sweet or strong as you like. Â Garnish with marshmallow and chocolate sauce, a dollop of fresh whipped cream, and some graham cracker crumbs, and you have a sweet summer pick me up that can’t be beat!
Good morning everyone! Â Is your week off to a good start? Â How was your Father’s Day?
I’m fresh off a weekend at the shore with Mr. Allie’s family. Â Going to the shore is Mr. Allie’s favorite thing in all the land, so we packed everybody up early Friday afternoon and headed down. Â I really wanted to do my best to make him feel loved and appreciated, because he always does such a good job with that for me when it’s Mother’s Day. Â I had been thinking about Father’s Day for months, picked up a few thoughtful gifts while on my travels, and made sure to have nice cards both from me and from the kiddos.
Friday evening was the usual mad dash to beat the traffic and get down there at a decent time before the lines at the restaurants were too long, or the kids were too hangry.  Then we headed back to my FIL’s to make up the beds and get our boys to sleep.  Next morning was a pancake breakfast at Mr. Allie’s favorite joint and then a marathon beach day.  I swear he could spend days on the beach.  Unlike myself (who always suffers a nasty burn no matter what kind of precautions I take; this weekend being no exception), he’s got thick skin that tans beautifully.  After our dinner out, we flopped into bed like we hadn’t slept in days.
So, Sunday morning rolls around and everyone is bustling around, getting ready for the big brunch with all the extended friends and family. Â Mr. Allie was off running errands when I woke up so I just got right into it and started getting myself and the kids ready. Â He strolled in an hour or so later, just in time to take a quick shower before it was nearly time to pile into the car and head to the party. Â Suddenly I realized we still hadn’t given him his gifts, and no sooner did I jump up to do that when he reminded me that I hadn’t even wished him a happy Father’s Day yet! Â Yikes. Â I felt like a total boob. Â I was really kicking myself because after all the thought and care I had put into making the weekend special, I pretty much forgot the most simple and important thing. Â Have you ever done anything like that?
Well, hopefully all the fun he ended up having made up for it. Â There were lots of quoit games and catches, walks on the beach, delicious food and drink, and family time with his dad, brother, and our boys.
I teased you a while back about having a fun summer s’mores treat on the way and here it finally is. Â Do you remember when I mentioned about the s’mores frappuccino I grabbed a few weeks back? Â What an incredible combination of flavors, but boy, it’ll give you cavities! Â If you’re anything like me you probably prefer your desserts to be not quite so intensely sugar-y. Â It’s kinda nice when you can actually make out some flavors in there!
Up until pretty recently, I always shied away from granita recipes because the thought of having to scrape with a fork every hour sounded like a huge pain in the neck. Â Then I discovered a great trick. Â It was Eric from Happy Valley Chow who taught me that a granita can be made in seconds with nothing more than a food processor fitted with a grating blade. Â I’m talking about the same blade you would use to shred cheese. Â You can actually freeze your granita solid, in a pan or whatever, until it’s like a legit block of ice. Â I’m talking stick it in the freezer and forget about it for days. Â Then, just before you’re ready to serve it, pop it out of the pan (it helps if you wrap it in a hot towel), cut it into chunks, and process it. Â It takes less than five minutes and it’s spectacularly noisy but it yields the fluffiest, most flavorful snow-like dessert treat.
Drizzle your serving glasses with marshmallow sauce and chocolate syrup, spoon in the coffee granita, and top with fresh whipped cream and graham cracker crumbs. Â So light and refreshing, and just as sweet or strong as you like it!

I love this so much, Allie! I tried the s’mores frappuccino as well, and I liked it but you’re right, it was pretty sweet. This is an awesome at home version and is so perfect as a summer afternoon treat! 🙂

Eeeek! I love all your individual desserts! This one looks incredible! I mean marshmallow, chocolate, coffee – what’s not to love?
Thank you so much Jessica! xo
Glad you and your family had a fabulous time and happy Father’s day to your hubby! We had tons of fun, way too much fun compared to years before. I’ve been craving s’mores, anything s’mores from real smores, ice cream, macaroons, and now…frappe granita. Awesome!
Thank you Linda and I’m so glad you had a fun weekend! I always crave s’mores too!
Granita is not normally my favorite thing, but I have to say I would be all over this version! I love coffee, obviously, and your delicious homemade marshmallow and chocolate sauces make this the most exciting granita ever in my book! Pinned.
Aw, thank you so much Marcie!
The s’mores frappucino is really good, but definitely cavity inducing. I love this granita! What a fun, summery, s’mores creation!
Thank you so much Danae! I loved the Starbucks version but I think this was even better 😉
This granita looks divine, Allie! Love the s’mores aspect – so yummy!
Thank you Jess!
Granita is the best! I have yet to have a s’mores frap (as you said, too much sweetness ahhh) but this looks like the perfect amount of that flavor in a great summery dessert!
Thanks Medha! The nice thing about this is you can make it as sweet as you like. Hope you’re having a great week dear!
I love granita and this is a perfect Summer treat. I’m with you, I don’t like desserts too sugary.
Sometimes it just ruins the taste, right? Thanks so much Janette!
This is the most perfect quick summer snack or refreshment, love the flavors and also the great texture!
Thanks Katalina! I really loved the texture too- the food processor makes it so light and snowy!
This granita sounds so good, Allie! Love the tip about the food processor!
Isn’t that great? Thanks Jen!
Allie, for us, I think as Paul gets older, he only cares about the homemade gifts and cards from the kids . . because our husbands can always buy whatever they want anytime of the year right? anyway, that’s how we see it. . or when there’s something that Paul wants to buy (Apple watch), he’s like. . “umm, this is my early Father’s day gift for myself” 😛 so I wouldn’t sweat it, sounds like you guys had a fabulous weekend!!! and I LOVE this granita!!! going to try making one in my food processor next time!!! I use two forks which probably takes a lot more time!!! I love this!!!
Thanks Alice! I think he was more upset that we didn’t wish him a happy day first thing, than anything else. He seemed to like the gifts though! But I totally agree- they can buy whatever whenever! It’s just a gesture more than anything else. Have a great night dear!
Who cares about the cavities! These sound great! And perfect tip about the food processor with the grating blade! Thanks for sharing! Sounds like you all had a wonderful beach weekend! What’s not to love about the beach right?!
So true! And it ended up being such a beautiful weekend (in spite of the forecast!). Thanks so much Mary Ann!
That sounds 10 times better than a starbucks frappuccino! The marshmallow sauce sounds delicious 🙂
The marshmallow sauce was definitely my favorite part! Thanks June!
Holy yum, yes! This is making me drool, girl!
Yay! That’s my goal 😉 Thanks Tori!
