Homemade  Soft Pretzels

Ingredients:

Chocolate  Cream

Warm Water Brown Sugar Active Dry Yeast Bread Flour Kosher Salt Beer Baking Soda Egg Wash

Combine the warm water, brown sugar, and dry yeast in a large bowl.

Step 1

When the yeast mixture looks foamy, stir in the flour, salt, and beer until a stiff dough forms.

Step 2

Knead the dough until it feels silky and elastic (approx. 10 minutes).

Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk

Step 5

Punch down the dough, and divide it into 8 equal portions.

Step 6

Roll each portion of dough into a rope about 20-inches long.

Step 7

Twist into a pretzel shape. Cover loosely with greased plastic wrap, and allow to rise until doubled in volume.

Step 8

Bring a large pot of water to a simmer, and add the baking soda. Boil the pretzels in the liquid for 1 minute on each side.

Step 9

Drain on clean towels, then transfer to parchment-lined baking sheets. Brush with egg wash.Sprinkle with salt.

Step 10

Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until dark brown and shiny.
