Step 1

Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. 

Step 2

Cut the butter into half-inch cubes. Cut the butter into the flour.

Step 3

Add the buttermilk to the flour and butter.

Step 4

Stir together until a shaggy dough forms.

Step 5

Flatten the dough to a thickness of 3/4 inch. Cut 2 inch diameter rounds. 

Step 6

Place the rounds on the prepared baking sheet. Bake at 475 F for 8 to 12  minutes or until golden brown.
