For the filling
  • 4 pounds peaches fresh (about 12 medium peaches), peeled and pitted, or about 9 cups frozen peach slices
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
For the topping
To make the filling:
  1. Place the peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch in a large pot, and cook over medium-high heat, stirring, until bubbling.
To make the topping:
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and pour the melted butter into a 9x13-inch pan.
  2. Place the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk to combine.
  3. Add the milk, stirring until smooth, and pour the mixture over the melted butter.
  4. Pour the cooked peaches over the topping and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
