Instructions
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F, and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Place the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, and salt in a large bowl and stir to combine.
Cut the butter into the flour mixture, until only pea-sized pieces remain.
Stir in the shredded cheese and chives.
Add the buttermilk, and stir until the dough gathers itself into a ball.
Drop 1/4-cup sized balls of biscuit dough onto the prepared baking sheets, allowing a few inches in between for spreading.
Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottoms.
Serve warm.

*If you don’t have buttermilk, you can substitute by stirring 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or white vinegar into 1 cup of regular milk. Allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes, or until thickened and slightly curdled.
