Ingredients

For the crumb topping

For the pear cranberry filling

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 pears, peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch dice
  • 3/4 cups sweetened dried cranberries
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

Make the crumb topping:

  • Melt the butter in a small pot over medium-low heat, and stir in the remaining ingredients with a fork, until evenly mixed.

Make the filling:

  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. 
  • Add the remaining ingredients, tossing to coat, and cook until slightly softened (about 5 minutes).

Bake the crisp:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 
  • Top the fruit filling with the crumb topping, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the streusel is lightly golden on top. 
  • Serve warm.
