  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and mist a 5-cup loaf pan with non-stick spray.

  2. Place the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl and whisk to combine.

  3. Mash the bananas in a smaller bowl, and stir together with the sour cream, milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.

  4. Add the banana mixture to the dry ingredients in the larger bowl, and fold together just until combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle the chocolate chips on top, and bake until the loaf springs back when gently pressed and a skewer inserted in the thickest part comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs (approx. 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes).

  6. Cool for about 20 minutes in the pan, then remove it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

*I used a combination of regular and dark cocoa powders.  Either kind or both will work.
