French Onion  Soup

Ingredients:

Olive Oil Onions Light Brown Sugar Garlic Butter All-Purpose Flour Wine Beef Stock Thyme Bay Leaf Salt and Pepper French Bread Gruyere and Mozzarella

Step 1

Halve, peel, and slice the onions thinly, then add them to the pot and stir.

Step 2

Add brown sugar and Worcestershire.

Step 3

Stir in the garlic, cooking until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the butter to the pot, sprinkle in the flour, and stir everything together.

Step 5

Pour in the wine and stock. Add the herbs, and allow the soup to come to a simmer.

Step 6

Remove the thyme stems and bay leaf, then ladle the soup into heat-safe bowls or crocks.

Step 7

Top with toasted bread and cheese. Melt under the broiler until brown and bubbly.
