Homemade  Hawaiian Rolls


warm water active dry yeast pineapple juice dark brown sugar unsalted butter eggs egg yolk kosher salt all purpose flour soft butter

Step 1

Stir the warm water and yeast together in a large mixing bowl, then set aside until foamy

Step 2

Add the pineapple juice, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, egg yolk, salt, and vanilla.

Step 3

Whisk to combine.

Step 4

Stir in the flour until a stiff dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

Step 5

Knead the dough until it passes the windowpane test,

Step 6

Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap.

Step 7

Allow it to rise in a warm place until doubled in volume.

Step 8

Punch down the dough and divide it into 15 equal portions.

Step 9

Allow the rolls to rise in a warm place. until doubled in volume (about 1 hour).

Step 10

Bake at 350 F for 20-25 minutes. Brush with butter.
