Instructions

To Make the Apple Blondies

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F, mist a 9x9-inch baking pan with non-stick spray, and line it with parchment paper.
  • Place the brown sugar, maple syrup, butter, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl and whisk until smooth.
  • Fold in the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Stir in the diced apples, and transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan, smoothing it in an even layer.
  • Bake until set around the edges but still soft towards the center* (approx. 40 to 45 minutes).
  • Cool completely, then top with icing and cut into squares.

To Make the Maple Icing

  • Stir the powdered sugar and maple syrup together in a small bowl until smooth.

Notes

*The blondies will continue to firm up as they cool.
