Chocolate Hazelnut Crinkle Cookies
Classic Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with Hazelnut and a hint of Orange! These are so soft and chewy and full of wintry flavor. You’ll love this seasonal twist on a nostalgic Holiday recipe!
So it’s nuts and chocolate twice in one week. I just can’t help myself- what could be better? But if yesterday’s post was maybe a little more than you want to take on right now, this one is just perfect for a Tuesday.
Do you remember these cookies? To me they are an absolute holiday classic.
When I used to work as a pastry chef at a catering company, I made a version of these every week for the cookie trays and they were my absolute favorite of all the (many) things that were served. Their family recipe was almond and Sambuca which maybe sounds a little strange? To put chocolate and licorice together? But I promise you it was fantastic.
Anyhow, this time around I decided to share something a bit more traditional. And it’s also seasonal!
We’ve got a crap-ton of clementines at our house around the holidays, so I amped up the flavor of the traditional Chocolate Crinkle Cookie with some citrus zest and a good dose of hazelnut as well.
The recipe can be found over at Better Homes and Gardens’ Delish Dish blog! I’m super psyched to be guest posting for BH&G today. I hate to sound like a broken record but it really is my favorite publication. I’d be so grateful if you’d click over and read, comment, share, pin, etc. so we can fool them into thinking that I’m a super awesome rockstar blogger with a legion of die-hard fans.
Thanks you guys! xoxo
I’ll take ALL the nuts and ALL the chocolate. No problems here. Love these crinkle cookies with just a little hint of something different to them!
Thanks Liz! Lol I’m glad to hear it 😉
I truly have never heard of crinkle cookies before but I want to try them!! It looks brownie like inside, is that what it’s like??

I had no idea you were a pastry chef at a catering company — that must’ve been fun, but so much work too! I can see why chocolate crinkle cookies were always on the tray — they’re so festive and delicious — and these look perfect! Love the sound of the hazelnuts and pop of citrus here too — pinned!
Thank you so much Marcie! Yeah… I did that for a while in college. It was hard work! And never got a weekend off, lol. I like blogging much better!

You are a rock-star blogger!! These cookies look amazing!! I made some chocolate crinkle cookies this weekend for the cookie swap and almost… added in hazelnut flour and orange zest to it. Mr J vetoed my urge to always mess with original recipes so I left it classic. SO showing him these and making them 🙂
Ha! That is too funny Zainab! I can’t believe we had the exact same idea. Girl, I think we were separated at birth 😉
Ok, you said crap-ton and I say that all – the – time! This lady I work with thinks it’s funny that I say it but I like crap-ton a crap-ton. LOL.
I also like these cookies a crap-ton. Holy cow do they look good! Beautiful photos, too, Allie!
Crap-ton crap-ton crap-ton! I think it’s the best phrase ever invented. So glad we are on the same page there 😉 Thank you Julie!
I have so many fond memories of making batches and batches of these every holiday season but I always went the classic route (just chocolate). The idea of mixing it up with some added flavors is great, and I am heading over to BH&G now to check it out!
Thank you so much for clicking over Nora! The classic route can’t be beat, for sure, but you know me- I can’t ever leave well enough alone! Thanks for the sweet comment and I hope you are having a WONDERFUL birthday today <3
Popping over to the BHG post now … choc-orange is my absolute favourite combo – what a great idea to use seasonal clementines!
