As a total wino, who’s married to a complete beer snob, I’m all too familiar with the concept of a flight.

*hides eyes in shame*

In case you yourself do not fall into either of these categories, allow me to enlighten you!

The Oxford English Dictionary defines a “flight” as:

“A selection of small portions of a particular type of food or drink, especially wine, intended to be tasted together for the purpose of comparison.”

Brilliant!  Anyone who considers themselves a lover of food or drink would, duh, find this idea appealing.

But I’m betting that the reason you come to Baking a Moment is not to hear about wine or beer.  Baking a Moment is the place you come to indulge in pictures, musings, and ideas about all things sweet, sinful, and indulgent.  We like to talk about the finer points of sugar and butter here.  We all get together, and gab, and ask each other questions, and share our ideas on things like… oh, I don’t know, CHOCOLATE!

That is why I just had to let my peeps in on this freaking genius idea the people over at Godiva came up with:

Can you even stand it???  I mean, how stinkin’ cute is that video?  And how fun would that be to sit in front of a flight of CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES, nibbling your way along and contemplating all the differences and similarities amongst the various selections…!  AmIright?

If you’ve never tried a Godiva chocolate, I highly suggest you come out from under your rock and see what all the fuss is about.  They are super high quality, fine chocolates that are truly a luxurious experience.  If you want to treat yourself, or someone you love, with an exceptionally divine treat, Godiva chocolates are totally where it’s at.  I’ve given many boxes of Godiva chocolates away as holiday gifts over the years, and they never disappoint.  This flight of truffles would make an easy-peasy dinner party dessert, a perfect hostess gift, (as the holidays are fast approaching), and I don’t know a soul that wouldn’t be thrilled to receive them in their Christmas stocking, as a Hanukkah gift, or as a little birthday or thank-you present.

Or just treat yourself!  It’s a busy time of year for all of us.  I’ve been rushing around all week with school activities, party planning, holiday decorating, and at the mall gathering fall and winter duds for my kiddos, and it’s seriously stressing me out!  Next time I’m there, I’m totally picking up a few of these as a stress reliever…!
