Baking A Moment

Contributors

Baking a Moment was founded by Allie, a former pastry chef, architectural designer and mom of two energetic boys, in 2012. From its inception to spring of 2024, all of the recipes were developed, photographed, and written by Allie.

In Spring of 2024, Allie decided to bring on contributors so there would be more great recipes and articles for her readers to enjoy. And to hopefully spotlight other talented creators to a broader audience.

Allie still is and always will be your go-to source for fabulous, easy-to-follow recipes and beautiful food photography. Don’t ever hesitate to reach out to her if you have a question!

But now the team is growing and we’d love for you to welcome Christina and Jen to the site. Here’s a little bit about them, so you can get to know them!

My name is Christina. I’m the voice, author and creator behind Simple Everyday Recipes. I started Simple Everyday Recipes in 2016 as an easy way to store the collection of recipes I made and it quickly turned into a side-gig allowing me to be creative while I worked in the corporate world. Now I share easy, approachable recipes for the everyday family. Some of my favorite things in life are brown butter chocolate chip cookies, a good chipless chocolate chip cookie, adding items to my husbands to do list and spending time with my two kids.

As a long time reader of Baking A Moment (circa 2015!), I’m thrilled to be contributing to Allie’s collection of delicious recipes! Some of my favorites are homemade brownies (do yourself a favorite and crumble these over ice cream– you’ll thank me later) and strawberry shortcake.

You can follow me on Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook!

Hi there, I’m Jen. From 2009 to 2021, I was a full-time blogger at Savory Simple, a blog dedicated to well-tested recipes and tutorials for home cooks.

In 2016, I published my cookbook, The Gourmet Kitchen.

I now work full-time as a freelance recipe developer and food photographer from my home in Olney, MD, where I live with my husband Jeff and our 3 cats.

I’ve written a weekly newsletter for The Washington Post’s Voraciously, and I’ve also contributed to The Kitchn, Food52, Parade Magazine, and Better Homes & Gardens.

Allie and I have been friends for years, and I’m thrilled to now be contributing to Baking a Moment!
