Chile mocha shortbread cookies!  Aren't these just the cutest?  I love the fluted heart shape, and that sprinkling of red-hot sugar.

You may remember a couple months ago I posted a tutorial on how to make a chile mocha at home.  Did you like that one?  I am a huge fan of the Starbucks Chile Mocha drink.  I love the combination of rich coffee and chocolate, and the little hint of cinnamon and warm spice is just so perfect for this time of year.  It warms you from the inside out!

So I jumped at the chance to recreate these flavors, in cookie form, for Go Bold with Butter.

  1. Hi! made you cutout cookies with my boys the other day! loved them and didn't spread out. Added rose oil for a little adult jazz.

    In this recipe did you use room temperature butter or cold butter?

    1. Thank you Sima! Your rose flavored cookies sound amazing! I just love that idea. In this recipe I used cold butter, just like I do with the vanilla cut-out recipe. I think it really helps the cookies to hold their shape. Thanks again and I'm so glad you and your boys enjoyed!
