I’m sorry to hear your husband has diabetes…it does run in my dad’s side of the family, so it’s something I think about a lot! I enjoy making healthier desserts because I do try to minimize sugar for the most part. And the coffee flavor here with the booze is just too much to resist!
Thanks Marcie! All my best to your dad’s family 🙂
I love anything coffee flavored and these custards look fantastic! Love the way you layers them. Sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with diabetes. So nice you were able to find a great alternative 🙂
Thanks Mira! He was very appreciative 😉
Coffee + custard = creative genius! Yum!
Thank you so much Julie!
These are wonderful, Allie … I would be so impressed to be presented with one of these after dinner, low carb or no. It’s like dessert, coffee and an aperitif all in one!
I thought the same thing Helen! Thanks so much for summing it up so articulately!
Healthier custards? I have never even tried regular custards. But this sounds so good!
They were! The coffee flavor was perfect with the liqueurs. Thanks Taste of Madness!
These look totally delicious, Allie!
Thanks so much Jess!
Coffee and booze?! Yes, please! You’re such a wonderful wife to create this lovely dessert for your hubby 🙂
Thank you Kathleen! But I think I’d be a lot more wonderful if I stopped taunting him with sugar and carb-laden treats every day, lol! I just can’t stop though!
What a delicious looking dessert. You had me at boozy and now I’m heading over to Delish Dish to check out the recipe.

Diabetes runs in our family too. So sorry to hear about Mr. Allie. So glad you are able to find more alternatives these days. Love these coffee custards, they’re so pretty!
I’m so sorry Kelly! Diabetes needs to go die in a fire. Thanks for being so sweet and supportive!
We have diabetes in the fam, too! You are seriously working around any dietary issues, props to you for making it work 🙂 This looks great.
Probably not working as hard as I should, lol! But thanks Medha 🙂
Gaaaaah! Poor Mr. Allie! I’m sorry to hear about the recent diabetes diagnosis. Type 2 runs in my family and I’m dreading the day that the doctor tells me I have it (especially since my diet is like, 95% sugar). At least there are lots of delicious desserts that can be made low/sugar free and your boozy B-52 coffee custards is one of them. This looks so creamy and luscious!
Coffee custards? Guess what…I’m a custard girl and I must try this recipe. Checking it out now.
