Good morning! It’s a brand new week, are you excited?
I know I am! This week is going to be quite an adventure. I have a lot going on!
It all starts with this amazing tart that I’m so psyched to share with you. This thing is seriously. Like, omg. So. Decadent. But I’ll get to that in a minute. First I want to tell you about what else I have going on this week!
This is what I’ll be wearing to the wedding! And I’ll look just as skinny in it as she does (ha ha!).
Ok so it’s my brother-in-law’s wedding on Saturday. So much planning and love have gone into this, I just can’t wait to see it all come to fruition. I’m so happy for them! They are so good for one another and I just can’t wait to see them start this next chapter of their lives together. It’s going to be a fun and family-filled weekend, starting on Friday night with the rehearsal dinner and moving right on into Sunday with the farewell brunch. My boys and I are spending the whole weekend in town at a hotel so it’s going to be a 24/7 party!!!
Before all that gets underway, I’ll be jetting to Chicago to tour the Aldi test kitchens. I’m so excited for this fun event because a) two of my very best friends will also be there (Alice and Jocelyn), and b) there are going to be lots of other bloggers there who I’ve never met before, so I’ll be making new friends too 🙂 Not to mention learning lots more about what is quickly becoming my favorite place to shop for food.
So with all of this coming up I’m sure you can imagine I spent lots of time in the kitchen over the weekend, preparing fabulous desserts to share with you guys over the next week and a half. Once again, I found myself low on some of my most-used pantry staples, so of course I scooted right over to Aldi where I can score my chocolate, sugar, flour, etc. at a super-low price.
Watching my kiddos dive into their Halloween stashes got me dreaming about peanuts, caramel, and chocolate, so I decided to whip up this Snickers-inspired tart.
Um, ya. May have been the best decision I’ve ever made.
Basically, you start by mixing up a little peanut butter blondie action, and then you spread it into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan. Bake it off, top with crunchy peanuts, salted caramel, and milk chocolate ganache.
Pretty simple concept, right? But guys, get ready to be knocked flat. This tart is so much better than I could have ever imagined!
Like an angel from heaven….
I know, I’m weird. I just couldn’t get over that pool of ganache!
Can you even, with the drippy caramel? I just about died.
You can use any kind of thick caramel sauce you happen to have on hand, but I highly recommend this version. It is by far the best I have ever tasted, so buttery and rich, and it comes together in about 10 minutes. Make a double or triple batch and save a few jars to give as gifts!
Let’s chat again on Thursday. I have another fabulous recipe for ya plus an awesome giveaway!

Treat yourself to this gooey snickers inspired tart! A peanut butter blondie base is topped with crunchy peanuts, salted caramel, and milk chocolate ganache. It'll make you swoon!
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (loosely packed)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 cup dry roasted unsalted peanuts
- 4 ounces salted caramel sauce
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
-
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
-
Cream the brown sugar, butter, and peanut butter on medium speed until fluffy.
-
Add the egg, and mix until fully incorporated.
-
Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
Spread the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a rectangular tart pan.
-
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden around the edges and set in the middle. Cool completely. (If the blondie base puffs up in the middle, just press it back down gently while still warm.)
-
Scatter the peanuts in an even layer at the bottom of the tart.
-
Top with salted caramel.
-
Heat the cream until small bubbles appear around the edges.
-
Pour over the chopped chocolate and stir to combine.
-
Cool slightly and pour over the tart.
-
Allow the ganache to set before slicing.

First of all, so many thumbs up on that babely dress! Second of all, this tart is, like, my everything. I love the blondie base and lovely snickers topping! A pretty fabulous way to use up all the candy I have leftover from Halloween (it was so cold, we only had 3 the whole night!)
Ugh we had a ton left over too, Amy! Thank you so much dear and I hope you’re having a fun week 😉
Yeah! I love this. A snickers in a tart is the best of both worlds. I’m going to try this recipe out soon using a rameken.
Great idea Chineka! That sounds amazing, actually 😉

And this tart. Um yeah, I’d like a piece stat!

Oh it’s going to be such a fun week for you! I was thinking about going to the Aldi event but I had to turn it down. The closest Aldi is 30 minutes from my house and I didn’t think I’d be able to pull of the posts in such short notice. Sad face. BUT, so happy you are going!
AND, so happy you shared these crazy good looking bars, Allie! YUM!
Oh that’s too bad Julie! I would have loved to meet you IRL! Hopefully we’ll bump into each other at some point. Are you hitting any conferences in 2015?
I know! Bummer! But I’m going to try to get tickets to Food Blog Forum in Orlando and maybe to IFBC in Seattle in September. Are you planning on going to any?
What a gorgeous tart! Love the gooey caramel!
Thank you Jessica! That caramel gets me every time! 😀 😀 😀
Oh this tart look deadly. Like I would just eat the whole darn thing myself! Sounds like an amazing week for you. Can’t wait to hear about all it and we better get to see some photos of you in that amazing dress! XO
Haha! I will try to share a pic or two! And yes, deadly is just the right adjective. It was way too tempting and I had to give it away after my second slice- it was about to get ugly 😉
Wow, looks delicious!
Thanks Amanda! It was so delicious I had to send it away immediately 😉
Woah! So much awesome in this post! First, I hope you have an amazing trip to Chicago! I’m not gonna lie, I’m super jealous. Second, I wish your brother-in-law many happy years! Third: DROOOOOOL.
Thank you 3 times over, Sarah! I’ll be sure to share lots of updates from Chicago 😉
Oh my goodness… I think I said “oh my goodness, yes please” about 8 times while reading through your post. I am drooling, and I can’t wait to make this!
Thank you for sharing this with us at The Makers link party!
Lol I love that! Thank you so much for the great feedback Ursula, and for hosting the link party!
This tart is making me drool all over my keyboard!! Too cool about coming to Chicago -which is my neck of the woods! Hope that the weather stays nice for you. We have been having a gorgeous fall!! Love that dress by the way. I am sure you will look stunning in it! 🙂
Thank you Renee! I’m really excited to be in Chicago again- it’s been way too long since my last visit! Looking forward to the fall weather. Hopefully it’s nicer than when I left Philly- it was so rainy and dreary this morning!
Omg, these look so tasty, & the photos are amazing! What camera do you use?
Thank you so much Izzie! I just have a little Canon t3i with a 1.8 50mm lens. It’s a great setup for a beginner! I’ve been really happy with it. Thanks for the great feedback!
Thanks & no problem! I will definitely be making these this weekend!
I think you are going to look just ADORABLE in that dress! It’s sooo pretty and sooo you! Love it. Now this tart. OMG…snickers and blondies should have been together from the beginning. Pinned!
Aw thanks Justine! I’m excited to wear it and it is definitely “me.” ;P Thanks so much for pinning, I’m so happy you like the tart!
Love Snickers, must try this! 🙂
Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for stopping by and for the great feedback!
Don’t mind if I do treat myself to more than one slice ;D

Thank you so much Tammy and my apologies for the late reply! The weekend was tons of fun but now I’m so behind! So happy you liked the tart though. Thanks for the sweet comment!
Oh man Allie you knocked it out of the park with this one! Loving the peanut on salted caramel on blondie on chocolate action you have going on! It sounds SO amazing 🙂
Thanks Chris! You can’t go wrong with the classics, right? Peanuts, caramel, and chocolate, everybody loves ’em! So glad you liked, thank you so much for the awesome feedback 😉
1-yayyy wedding/family fun! The dress is beautiful, you’ll look gorgeous! 2-ooooh Aldi! also fun!! 3-This tart! That blondie crust…and peanuts…and ooooh that shiny beautiful chocolate on top….lovelovelove
Thank you so much Kayle! It was a super fun weekend and kicking it off with Snickers was definitely a good move 😉
Dang girl! This looks amazing! I have never done a tart before, but after seeing this I sure do want to try one!
Oh ya, tarts are the bomb! So much easier than pies, lol. So glad you liked this, thanks so much for the sweet comment and sorry for my late reply. Things have been crazy but I’m getting caught up, slowly! 😀 😀 😀
Wow! That’s my reaction to this. We all know blondies are delicious, but topped with a snickers-type-thing they must taste pretty much like the food of the gods! ‘Coincidentally’, I’ve recently been just a tad addicted to the Aldi Snickers rip-offs (which I actually think taste even better than the real thing). Got to pin this one for later! 🙂
Oh boy, now you’ll have me looking for the Aldi Snickers knockoffs! I wonder if we have them here in the States… I don’t remember seeing them but now I’m going to have to ask! So happy you liked the idea Helen; thank you so much for pinning sweetie!
