How to Cut a Pineapple
Learn how to cut a whole, fresh pineapple into chunks with this easy, step-by-step video tutorial.
Good morning, friends!
Just popping in again today to share this little video I created.
I know somebody who spends $9.99 a pound on cut pineapple, and I just think that is crazy! Â A whole fresh pineapple costs just a few dollars, and they’re available all year ’round. Â (And I know I don’t have to convince you that fresh is better than canned.) Â We almost always have one lying around the kitchen, for smoothies, snacks, whatever! Â It takes me about 3 1/2 minutes to break one down into bite-sized pieces (I timed it!), but through the magic of video editing this video tutorial teaches you in just a little over 2.
Fantastic video, Allie! Is this perhaps in preparation for a pineapple dessert? 😉
I can’t get anything past you, can I Kathleen? Very smart lady 😉
I have a vivid memory of cutting up a pineapple for a fruit platter for someone’s shower and accidentally including the core. OOPS! Thanks for teaching a new generation… not to do that. 🙂
Lol oh well! I’m sure it was still delicious. Thanks so much for the feedback Meggan!
SUPER helpful! thanks for sharing
My pleasure Heather! So glad you found it useful. Thanks for stopping by!
Ah yes, cutting a pineapple. Quite daunting and I think why people buy pre-cut. I prefer to cut my own because the pineapple is fresher and juicier. Thank you for sharing.
I am with you! Fresh is always best and especially when there’s an easy enough way to get it done. Thanks so much, dear!
This is such a great video to have! Love it!
Yay! So glad you like it sweetie! Thank you 🙂
I never buy fresh pineapple because they seem a bit intimidating but this video really simplified things for me! Thanks!
My pleasure Christine! I know, they can be so intimidating but I think if you just take it one step at a time, it’s totally doable. Thanks so much for stopping by and for the awesome feedback!
This is how I cut my pineapples too! (Yay! I have been doing it right, lol!) But I have one of these do-hickey gadgets that cores, peels, and slices the pineapple in a spiral that is amazing- but that is only good for when you are wanting pineapple rings, not chunks or tidbits. 😉
Oh yeah?! I should get one of those things! I’ve always seen them in stores and I never knew if they were any good, lol! I’m so glad you told me that. Thanks so much for stopping by Carrie, and for the great feedback!
I loved this video, Allie! So helpful 🙂 We love fresh pineapple!
Hooray! Same here Kelly- we eat a ton of pineapple at my house. Thanks hon!
Allie, I love the video! Such a great resource. I often get asked how to cut certain fruits/vegetables. Now I can refer all pineapple related requests to your video 🙂
You are too sweet, Aida! Thank you so much and I’m so glad you liked it 🙂
Allie, LOVE the video!!! Can I hire you? 😛
Haha thanks Alice! I’m not sure I’m at “that level” yet but when I hit it, I’m all yours 😉
Great video Allie! So easy to cut a pineapple, just need a good knife 🙂
Absolutely! No fancy gadgets needed, IMHO. Thanks so much Mira!
