How to Cut a Pineapple

Learn how to cut a whole, fresh pineapple into chunks with this easy, step-by-step video tutorial.

How to cut a whole fresh pineapple into bite-sized pieces in less than 4 minutes!

Good morning, friends!

Just popping in again today to share this little video I created.

I know somebody who spends $9.99 a pound on cut pineapple, and I just think that is crazy!  A whole fresh pineapple costs just a few dollars, and they're available all year 'round.  (And I know I don't have to convince you that fresh is better than canned.)  We almost always have one lying around the kitchen, for smoothies, snacks, whatever!  It takes me about 3 ½ minutes to break one down into bite-sized pieces (I timed it!), but through the magic of video editing this video tutorial teaches you in just a little over 2.

Hopefully that was helpful!  Talk again soon 🙂

  1. I have a vivid memory of cutting up a pineapple for a fruit platter for someone's shower and accidentally including the core. OOPS! Thanks for teaching a new generation... not to do that. 🙂

  2. Ah yes, cutting a pineapple. Quite daunting and I think why people buy pre-cut. I prefer to cut my own because the pineapple is fresher and juicier. Thank you for sharing.

    1. I am with you! Fresh is always best and especially when there's an easy enough way to get it done. Thanks so much, dear!

  3. I never buy fresh pineapple because they seem a bit intimidating but this video really simplified things for me! Thanks!

    1. My pleasure Christine! I know, they can be so intimidating but I think if you just take it one step at a time, it's totally doable. Thanks so much for stopping by and for the awesome feedback!

  4. This is how I cut my pineapples too! (Yay! I have been doing it right, lol!) But I have one of these do-hickey gadgets that cores, peels, and slices the pineapple in a spiral that is amazing- but that is only good for when you are wanting pineapple rings, not chunks or tidbits. 😉

    1. Oh yeah?! I should get one of those things! I've always seen them in stores and I never knew if they were any good, lol! I'm so glad you told me that. Thanks so much for stopping by Carrie, and for the great feedback!

  5. Allie, I love the video! Such a great resource. I often get asked how to cut certain fruits/vegetables. Now I can refer all pineapple related requests to your video 🙂

    1. Haha thanks Alice! I'm not sure I'm at "that level" yet but when I hit it, I'm all yours 😉

    1. I sure hope so Kathy! We are expecting more snow tomorrow :/ Will spring ever really get here???
