It’s Friday, woo-hoo!

I don’t know about you, but I’m about to celebrate with a fabulous cocktail. There’s just nothing better than capping off the week with a really great drink. And in the summertime, it better be something icy-cold and fruity.

Most Friday nights, you’ll find me on our patio with one of my best drink recipes. Maybe it’s a classic margarita. Or maybe it will be a frozen mango margarita. Or sometimes we’ll be enjoying frozen sangria slushies.

You really can’t go wrong with any of these options!

But lately, the strawberries have just been so AMAZING! I want to eat ALL the strawberries right now, and that craving extends all the way into what I’m drinking.

So that brings us to today’s recipe! The strawberry daiquiri!

Strawberry daiquiris are the perfect summer cocktail. They have a gorgeous, vibrant color, and they’re a little sweet, a little tangy, and SUPER refreshing.

Plus they’re a snap to make with just 4 simple ingredients.

So grab your blender, and let’s mix up a big pitcher!

What is a strawberry daiquiri?

This is a drink that originated in Cuba, and in that part of the world, rum reigns supreme.

So naturally it’s made with rum, but there are also strawberries, lime juice, and a touch of sugar if you feel like it needs it.

Why this is the best strawberry daiquiri recipe

  1. Tastes amazing: The fresh strawberry flavor is off the charts!
  2. Few ingredients: Just 4 ingredients, or less!
  3. Easy to make: It literally takes minutes to make.
  4. Never gets watered down: This is a frozen drink but you don’t add any ice, so you can take your time with it and it will never become diluted.

What does this frozen strawberry daiquiri recipe taste like?

This cocktail is icy cold, slushy, and bursting with sweet strawberry flavor!

You’ll also feel the sweet warmth of rum at the back of your throat, and freshly squeezed lime juice gives it a nice tangy quality.

Ingredients

Strawberries: I love using frozen fruit in cocktails because it makes them thicker and colder. It’s almost like a smoothie! And you don’t have to add any additional ice, which would melt and water down your drink. Frozen strawberries give this strawberry daiquiri recipe the most incredible flavor!

Rum: The best kind of rum you could use for this type of cocktail would be a white, silver, or light rum.

Lime: Just leave that bottle of processed lime juice on the grocery store shelf. And walk away! Nothing can beat the flavor of freshly squeezed citrus.

Sugar: This ingredient is optional. You can totally leave it out if you prefer! But sometimes frozen strawberries aren’t the sweetest, so you may need a few tablespoons to get the right balance of flavors.

How to make a frozen strawberry daiquiri from scratch

This easy recipe comes together in just 2 simple steps.

Step 1: Measure out the ingredients

Gather all your ingredients together, measure them out, and pop them in the blender.

Step 2: Blend

Blend everything up until smooth! That’s all there is to it.

How to serve strawberry daiquiris

These are best served immediately, while they’re still cold and thick.

However, since there is no ice in this recipe, you can take your time sipping on it. It will never get watered down, no matter how long you nurse it! It will stay somewhat thick from the pureed fruit and the flavor will not become diluted.

Expert tips

Scale it up: If you’re serving a big crowd, you may want to think about making a large pitcher of strawberry daiquiris. This recipe scales easily. Just multiply the quantities by however many people you want to serve. As long as you have a big enough blender, it will work great!

Virgin strawberry daiquiri recipe: For a non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri, just leave out the rum! My kids love this. It’s such a treat for them!

“Season” to taste: Like it a little sweeter? Add a touch more sugar. Want it a little more tangy? A little more lime juice gets the job done!

Frequently asked questions

Do you have to use rum?

Traditionally, strawberry daiquiris are made with rum.

I’ve seen where some people prefer their strawberry daiquiri with vodka- and while it’s not traditional, you can totally do this too. Substitute vodka for rum in equal measure, if that’s your thing.

Can strawberry daiquiris be made ahead?

If you are having a party and want to serve a crowd, this is a great drink to make.

As written below, it will yield 4 servings, but you could double or even triple the recipe to make lots more. Just buzz it all up in the blender and start filling those glasses!

How long do strawberry daiquiris last?

One of the reasons I love frozen drinks like this so much is because they will keep in the freezer for weeks. Because of the alcohol, this cocktail will never freeze completely solid.

If you have extra left over, just pour it into a container, snap on a lid, and pop it in the freezer. It will remain slushy, and you can just spoon some out whenever that strawberry daiquiri craving strikes!

Gluten-free and vegan strawberry daiquiris

This recipe is 100% gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan! So go ahead and enjoy!

What if I just want it on the rocks?

If you don’t want a slush-y strawberry daiquiri, just don’t use frozen strawberries. You can use fresh strawberries instead or just allow your frozen fruit to thaw before blending everything up.

Then just pour it over ice and start sipping!
