No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie Jars
These easy, no-bake peanut butter pie jars come together in mere moments! Serve cold, for a refreshing and satisfying dessert.
*This post originally published on June 20, 2014. I thought it was about time the pics were updated. So, many of the photos you see here now are new and improved. There’s also a new how-to video! Everything else is pretty much the same as it ever was! Hopefully you’ll enjoy this recipe as much as my family and I do.*
So, last week I showed you a couple of fun recipe ideas (remember those coconut lime glazed muffins, and the citrusy-y beer pretzel bites with Nutella dip?) to honor the men in your life. It was Father’s Day week, after all.
But I was holding out on ya. I didn’t show you my favorite of all. This is the ultimate. This is what Mr. Allie would have really wanted. And it’s what my own dad would have absolutely loved too, on Father’s Day or any other day of the year!
If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably already know that we were at the shore over the weekend. Mr. Allie’s family gets together down there every year, for our Father’s Day celebration. So, with that being the case, as well as last week just being so jam-packed with recipe posts that my sponsors helped make possible (thank you, KitchenAid, Nutella, and Driscoll’s!), I was, sadly, in no position to whip up this dessert that I know Mr. Allie would so adore.
Do you like to order dessert when you eat out at a restaurant? I’m a little ashamed to admit what you’ve probably already guessed about me, and that is that I never pass up an opportunity to taste something sweet, even when it’s not homemade by yours truly. When we dine out, it’s a foregone conclusion that if there’s a peanut butter chocolate dessert on the menu, it WILL be ordered. Bonus points if it’s a peanut butter pie.
I think Mr. Allie’s been waiting far too long for me to make this for him at home, and it’s time his patience is rewarded. It doesn’t have to be Father’s Day for us to enjoy this yummy treat!
You are going to love how quick and simple this dessert is to whip up. It all starts with a little Dark Chocolate Graham Cracker action, in the bottom of a 6-ounce jar. If you don’t have chocolate graham crackers laying around, crushed Oreos would work equally well! I like to use this kind of mini-chopper to crush up the crumbs. Follow it up with a rich and fluffy, cream cheese-y no-bake peanut butter pie filling that comes together in mere moments. It’s so good it’ll make you slap your mama! Or your dad, as it were ;P
A dollop of softly whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and a bit of crumbly peanut butter cup and he’ll feel like the luckiest dad in all the land!
These are so great because, man, it is hot out there (today was 96 degrees F here in the Philadelphia area)! I do NOT feel like turning my oven on in this kind of weather. So, no baking required for this fabulous treat! AND- it’s so good cold! Make it a couple of hours ahead and let it chill in the fridge. It’s such a treat to eat on the patio, after the sun starts to go down!

Easy, No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie Jars
Ingredients
- 6 ounces (170.1 g) cream cheese, (the kind in a brick)
- 1/2 cup (129 g) peanut butter, (creamy)
- 1/4 cup (30 g) powdered sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon (0.13 teaspoon) kosher salt
- 1 cup (238 g) heavy cream, cold
- 3/4 cup (67.5 g) crushed chocolate graham crackers, (or about 15 crushed Oreo cookies)
- 1/2 cup (119 g) heavy cream,, cold
- 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon chocolate sauce
- 4 mini peanut butter cups, chopped
Instructions
To Make the Filling:
- Place the cream cheese, peanut butter, sugar, and salt in a medium mixing bowl and whip on medium speed until smooth.
- Slowly drizzle the cold cream into the bowl, in a thin stream, while continuing to whip on medium speed. Scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl with a silicone spatula, then turn the speed up to high and whip for about a minute more, until stiff peaks form.
To Assemble:
- Place 3 tablespoons of cookie crumbs in the bottom of each jar. (I like to use a mini-chopper to crush the cookies.)
- Pipe or spoon the filling on top.
- Whip the cream with the powdered sugar until it holds soft peaks.
- Layer about two tablespoons of whipped cream in each jar. Top with chocolate sauce and chopped peanut butter cups.
- Serve cold.
I’d like to try the chocolate sesame butter cookie recipe.
