So, as of right now I am on my way to Punta Cana! I’ve got my crew in tow, and we are so excited to escape the winter weather for a few days.

Winter really gets me down, especially when it drags on and on. And it always seems to!

I usually just hunker down and hibernate til it’s over. Comfort food helps! Some of my favorites include baked potato soup, homemade banana muffins, and chocolate cheesecake. But in between all those yummy foods it’s nice to wrap your hands around a mug of something hot and steamy. This white chocolate mocha latte is the perfect thing.

It’s creamy, sweet, and so good. It feels like a special treat, especially when you top it with a big, fluffy cap of whipped cream and sprinkle it with white chocolate shavings. And it all comes together in less than 10 minutes.

HOW TO MAKE WHITE CHOCOLATE MOCHA

For the absolute yummiest result, use real white chocolate. It truly gives the most incredible flavor.

For what you see here, I used 2 ounces of white chocolate in each serving, and that was the perfect amount of sweetness for me. And the white chocolate flavor really came through. But if you like it sweeter, you could use more white chocolate, or you could add a little sugar too.

Once the chocolate is chopped, add it to the mugs, along with milk. I like whole milk (it’s so rich and creamy!) but you can totally use whatever you keep on hand. I’m sure plant-based milks would work fine too!

Heat the white chocolate and milk together until the white chocolate is melted. I usually do this in the microwave, but you can do it in a small pot on the stove too. Just heat it really gently and be careful it doesn’t burn on the bottom.

Give it a good stir to get all the white chocolate incorporated into the milk, then pour in the coffee. I have a Nespresso coffee maker, and I love it because the coffee comes out so nice and strong. Espresso is best for lattes, but if you have a drip coffee maker that will work too. It will just be more like a cafe au lait.

The only thing left to do is give it a generous whipped cream topping and sprinkle it with white chocolate shavings. It makes it all feel like such a special treat!

HOW TO MAKE WHITE CHOCOLATE SHAVINGS

To make these pretty little white chocolate curls, just run a vegetable peeler down the side of your bar of white chocolate. It works like magic!
