I love a good matcha, and not only in latte form. We've made a Strawberry Matcha Loaf, Matcha Green Tea Panna Cotta, and even Matcha Ginger Ice Cream Sodas (delicious, by the way).

Today I wanted to go back to my latte-loving roots, but with a twist.

I incorporated fresh strawberry puree into the mix, and the results are really amazing. I can't wait for you to try this!

Here's Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • Simple prep: This recipe can't get easier! You'll be sipping on your own latte in minutes, no coffee shop required.
  • Readily available ingredients: You can use fresh or frozen strawberries for this, and you can even prep strawberry puree in advance and freeze in ice cube trays to make the process even faster!
  • Money saver: You'll save so much money making your own matcha latte at home instead of hitting the coffee drive-thru regularly.

Ingredients You'll Need

The recipe card at the bottom of the post contains the full list with all of the amounts. Refer to that when you're cooking.

INgredients for an iced matcha latte with strawberry puree.
  • Strawberries: You can use fresh or thawed frozen strawberries for this recipe.
  • Powdered sugar: Sweetens the drink and dissolves easily.
  • Ice: Any kind of ice works here! I know some people love nugget ice, if you have it available, but I just use regularly ice cubes and it works great.
  • Milk: Any type of milk works for this recipe. Whole, 2%, even skim. You can also substitute non-dairy milk if you would like.
  • Hot water: For dissolving the matcha powder.
  • Matcha powder: My favorite brand is linked here. You can use whatever type you have on hand.

Helpful Tips and Tricks

  • If you want to maintain the layered look, make sure to drizzle the milk and matcha slowly. A fast pour will guarantee that you lose the layering effect.
  • You can prep the puree and matcha in advance and keep in the fridge for faster preparation for more matcha lattes.

Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte

My Iced Matcha Latte is going to be your new favorite summer beverage! Plus, it is simple to throw together and is a great change-up from your traditional Matcha. Save some dollars at the coffee shop and make your own latte at home!
Servings: 1 serving
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces (113.4 g) strawberries, fresh or frozen & thawed
  • 2 tablespoons (16 g) powdered sugar, divided
  • ice
  • ½ cup (122 g) milk, (cold) any kind
  • 4 tablespoons (60 g) hot water

  • Transfer the puree to the bottom of a drinking glass and top with ice.
  • Pour the milk over the ice.
  • Whisk the hot water, remaining powdered sugar, and matcha powder together until smooth and frothy (I used a handheld milk frother, but a regular whisk would work too).
