Nutella S’mores Tart
A crunchy, buttery Graham cracker tart crust is filled with chocolate-y Nutella spread and topped with a marshmallow meringue. Toast the meringue until it’s crisp and brown on the outside and meltingly gooey inside, for an elegant, no-bake take on the nostalgic s’more.

Hey guys! I’ve got another great recipe for ya today!
Yesterday’s post got a bit, ahem, wordy, so I’ll do my best to keep this one short and sweet. I think all I really need to say is “Nutella.”
I kid, I kid! But I mean it’s kinda true, right??? We all love it so much and just can’t get enough.
For today’s post I wanted to write about summer memories. I don’t really have any memories of eating Nutella when I was a kid because I’m old and we didn’t have Nutella back then. Lol! Seriously, I had never even heard of it. I think I would have thought I’d died and gone to heaven if I had permission to eat that sweet, chocolate-y, addictive spread on a whole wheat bagel for breakfast every morning, like my son does. He really does! When he wakes up in the morning and I ask him what he wants to eat it’s always the same answer: chocolate bagel. I guess he’ll grow up with fond memories of Nutella for sure!
One thing I do have a few fun memories of though is s’mores! Seriously. Is there anything better in all the land??? I really don’t think there is! Crunchy graham, fluffy marshmallow, and gooey chocolate. It’s the ultimate dessert for me.
We do s’mores a lot at my house because my husband loves to do a fire pit and the kiddos always want to toast marshmallows when he does. It’s so much fun relaxing in the back yard, watching the kids run around catching fireflies, and toasting marshmallows over the smoky fire.
This tart is a great way to recreate those memories all year ’round. And it’s no-bake (perfect for summer!) and easy-peasy to make thanks to Nutella.
It all starts with a great graham cracker crust. I always use this recipe . It’s great. The perfect ratio of graham to butter to sugar to salt. And don’t you dare leave out the salt! The filling is quite sweet so you really need it for balance. I used my rectangular tart pan but it takes the same amount of crust mixture as a regular pie crust, so I’m thinking the other quantities would probably be interchangeable as well.
Next just spread the happy. Give it a thick and generous layer of chocolate-y Nutella all over… I love the way the hazelnut complements the s’mores flavor. And you don’t have to do a thing to it, just straight up, pure Nutella, straight from the jar. It makes the most delicious filling, just as-is. 😉
And then whip up a quick marshmallow topping! This one is actually a meringue made with a hot sugar syrup to cook the egg whites. It’s super gooey and when you toast it with a brulee torch or under the broiler, it gets that lovely smoky flavor… MMMMM!
I piped it because I like to be fancy but you could just as easily spoon it on there. Try to get as many peaks as you can; they get so crisp and brown!
I also just want to mention that I’m participating in a bake sale fundraiser this week, to raise money for autism research. A batch of my favorite chocolate chip cookies, baked by yours truly, is up for auction. Did you like to chase fireflies when you were a kid? Did you eat a lot of s’mores in the summertime? Have you ever tried one with Nutella?

Ohhh yeah you definitely had me at nutella!! Love everything about this tart, especially your fancy marshmallow! What an elegant and delicious take on the s’more!
That tart sounds, and looks, amazing!
I didn’t use to eat Nutella as a child, but oh how I love it now! Especially if it’s nutella s’mores what we’re talking about – this tart looks more than glorious! What a stunner!
This looks gorgeous Allie. Sharing on Twitter. Pinned too.
I’ve been looking for one of those thin tart tins. I had to adapt my blueberry and lemon curd cream tart to fit a bigger tart as it was meant to be baked in the same tart tin as you used for this.
Loving the butt crack pic of your son, bless! lol We don’t have fireflies here to catch.
This looks amazing and super delicious! Beautiful pictures as usual- I wish I had a slice right now! 🙂 xx
Thank you so much, Jess! I’d send ya some if I could 😉
Loveeeeeee it Allie!!!!!! This looks GREAAAAAT!!! Nutella is like a gift from God to all dessert lovers and you have used it in the most perfect way possible!!!!!! Lovinggggg that marshmallow topping!!!!! Pinning!!!!!!!
This is a show stopper my dear!! So stunning and I am sure indulgent and good!! Love it!!
You have one seriously lucky family Allie. This looks sooooo good!
I personally love it when you get “wordy!” These are my favorite kind of posts, but this tart. O my, and the photos. O my! Everything about this recipe is just incredible. Love it!
As you saw on G+ I’m seriously obsessed with this tart! It’s gorgeous, it’s summer, and oh yeah, it’s nutella!!! I’m so making this…pinned. Brilliant creation. 🙂
Seriously Allie, I’m dying here. This is so freakin’ beautiful. I would be ALL OVER THIS asap! And it’s Nutella, please you’re killing me. I can’t deal. I’ll pin and walk away…. slowly while looking back.
Lol that is too funny Connie- I can totally picture you doing that right now! Thank you so much for pinning sweetie you are the best 😉
I’m an extremely nostalgic person and lately, I’ve been playing a lot of old school music in my car, thinking back to when I was younger. Summer memories are the best memories. I was just saying to the Husband how I miss being a kid, sleeping in, hanging out with friends at the park or the beach, just soaking up the sun, not a care in the world. I hope your kids hang onto these lovely memories that you ‘n Mr. Allie are creating for them. And girl, this tart. When I saw the photo this morning, I actually thought to myself, I quit because I’ll never make anything this beautiful. Those swirly peaks, perfectly browned, are just stunning. It’s a feast for the eyes, Allie, and I’m sure every luscious bite is out this world!
First of all please don’t ever ever think that! I never want to make anyone feel bad like that and stop it! You are such an amazingly talented woman. Seriously! I could not even get over that one photo you captured of the rum syrup getting poured over the bundt cake. I only wish I could get an image like that. This was totally a cheat because the piping tip and the brulee torch did all the work for me 😉 And second you are so on the money! Summer memories are totally the best and I still get transported back to being 9 years old and getting dropped off at the playground when I hear Raspberry Beret on the radio. Those were the good old days!
awwwwww I love the summer memories!! I totally chased fireflies and looooved s’mores (not much has changed there)—this recipe is singing to me. It’s all ‘Kayleeeeee, Kayle! You want to eeeeeeat meeeeee” and I do. It’s true. I love how thick the graham cracker crust is and then the nutella filling is ermahgerd goooood and yay for toasty meringue!!!!
Lol thanks Kayle! Ya I definitely wanted the crust on the thicker side since the filling and topping are so rich and sweet. I’m so happy you liked it! Thank you for the fun comment 😉
What a beautiful tart! It’s so fancy but down to earth at the same time. The perfect dessert for a summer occasion. Like…Thursday. Or any day ending with Y. Ha. Your son has very good taste, by the way. I remember trying Nutella for the first time in Europe as a teenager and falling in love with it, but we didn’t have it when I was a kid (that I remember) so I feel like now I need to make up for it!
Thanks Nora! I think it was about 8 years ago that I tried it for the first time, also in Europe! It was love at first bite, of course. I was totally psyched when I started seeing it here in the US. Thanks so much for the great comment!
Oh my goodness the tart looks Amazing.. Allie, this nutella tart is definitely the ultimate dessert .. and its no bake dessert.. just perfect… 🙂
I think I just died. S’mores may be one of my most favorite things on the planet and I am seriously dying over this nutella s’mores tart! I want a piece of it SO badly. This looks incredible, Allie! 🙂
Thank you Beth! I am totally with you; s’mores is THE best dessert ever. Nothing else really holds a candle. Thanks for the great feedback sweetie!
I used to looove chasing fireflies as a kid. In fact, I might have just tried to do so a few days ago! It wasn’t nearly as fun… But I love your nostalgic tart. S’mores were a huge part of my childhood too, and I’ve been meaning for a while to develop my own tribute to my childhood s’mores! Thanks for sharing yours! Those meringue swirls are just so darn gorgeous!
Thanks Lina! I just can’t get enough s’mores, it really is my favorite dessert. I’m so happy you like them too!
Nutella + ooey gooey marshmallow meringue. I need this in my life!
Yes, you do! Everyone does, lol! The world would be a much happier place. Thanks Rochelle!
My goodness, this is beautiful! I love the way you piped the meringue. I’m not sure if you have this in the US or not but over in the UK a favourite dessert is lemon meringue – exactly the same as this but with a lemon filling. Usually on a regular pie crust as well, but sometimes it’s a graham cracker crust instead. So … this is like a nutella meringue! Brilliant idea!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE lemon meringue pie. I haven’t had it in ages! My mom used to buy the frozen kind and thaw it out every once in a while for a treat. You’re right- this is very much like that! The meringue on this one is really gooey and marshmallowy though. Is that how it is in the UK too? Here in the states its usually more foamy. Anyhow, thanks Helen!
That looks so awesome Allie! How could one ever go wrong with Nutella? 🙂
Have a great Wednesday!
No, you just can’t. It’s impossible! Thanks Melanie, you too!
